221 Billion In Just The State Of Uttar Pradesh, The BJP Spent Rs 340 Billion On Elections In 5 States

New Delhi, 23 Sep – According to the election expenditure estimates of the two parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party spent more than Rs 340 crore on the assembly elections that were held in five states earlier this year, while the Congress spent more than Rs 194 crore on campaigning in these states.

According to a report submitted by the BJP and made public by the Election Commission, the party spent more than Rs 340 crore on its campaigns for the early-year assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa, and Punjab.

This claims that the BJP spent a total of Rs 221 crore in Uttar Pradesh. In addition, Manipur received 23 crores, Uttarakhand received 43.67 crores, Punjab received more than 36 crores, and Goa received more than 19 crores.

According to the information provided by Congress, the campaign in these five states cost more than Rs 194 crore. National parties with recognition include the BJP and Congress. The Election Commission must receive information about the costs associated with the campaign from the parties running in the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections within a certain amount of time.

In January of this year, the Election Commission raised the expenditure cap for candidates from 54 lakh to 75 lakh and from 70 lakh to 95 lakh for Lok Sabha candidates, depending on the state and from 20 lakh to 28 lakh and from 28 lakh to 40 lakh for Assembly elections.

On March 10, the outcomes of the legislative elections in five states-including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand-were announced. The BJP achieved great success in this. On the one hand, the BJP returned to power in Manipur and other states, including Uttarakhand, Goa, and Uttar Pradesh. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party has established a government for the first time.

The BJP spent the most money in the five states, according to the figures, while the Congress party came in second. Congress was unable to win in any state except Punjab, where it lost power and had to settle for only 18 seats.
