Arvind Kejriwal announced today that Bhagwant Mann is the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) chief ministerial candidate for Punjab, following a unique televote in which individuals were urged to call in their votes.
The news: AAP president Arvind Kejriwal told reporters that Bhagwant Mann received more than 93 per cent of the votes cast by phone and WhatsApp.
• “The AAP is certain to win the Punjab election. In certain ways, the Chief Ministerial candidate picked will be the future Chief Minister of Punjab,” Kejriwal said during the announcement.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Punjab Congress president, received almost 3 per cent of the votes. Several votes in Kejriwal’s favour were found invalid.
