India reported a slight decline in new COVID-19 cases, with the country reporting 2,35,532 infections in a day, India’s total tally of cases increased to over 4.08 crore, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The news: The death toll has risen to 4,93,198, with 871 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
- The number of active cases fell by 1,01,278 to 20,04,333, accounting for 4.91 per cent of total infections, while the country’s recovery rate stands at 93.89 percent, according to the ministry.
- According to the health ministry, the daily positivity rate was 13.39 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 16.89 per cent.
- The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,83,60,710, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.21 per cent, the ministry said.
- According to the Saturday update, the total number of infections is 4,08,58,241.
In the meantime, the total number of anti-COVID vaccine doses administered in the country has surpassed 165.04 crore.
