Mughal Gardens to open for general public from March 16

Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday issued a statement which said that the Mughal Gardens will be open to the general public from Saturday until March 16.

The news: The Gardens will only be open to those who have made an advance online reservation, according to the statement.

What they said: “As a preventative measure, walk-in entry will not be available this year,” according to the statement.

  • The highlight of this year’s ‘Udyanotsav’ will be 11 varieties of tulips, which will blossom in stages throughout February.
  • Flower Carpets in beautiful designs will also be on show in the central lawns, according to the announcement.

What’s new: This year’s ornamental flowers have a predominant colour scheme of white, yellow, red, and orange. In the gardens, a tiny cactus area has been created, as well as other air-purifying plants.

  • On Thursday, President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s annual ‘Udyanotsav.’
  • Even pre-booked hourly slots will be available between 1000 and 1700 hours, with the last admission at 1600 hours, according to the statement.
  • A maximum of 100 persons can fit into each slot.
  • Visitors are allowed to bring their phones with them throughout the visit, according to the statement.
  • Water bottles, briefcases, handbags/ladies purses, cameras, radios/transistors, boxes, umbrellas, arms and ammunition, and eatables are not permitted, according to the statement.
  • At various spots along the public path, hand sanitizers, drinking water, bathrooms, and first aid/medical facilities are available.
  • Visitors must adhere to Covid-19 rules like as wearing masks and keeping social distance during the tour, according to the statement.
  • They will be subjected to thermal screening at the entry gate, with no visitors permitted without a mask, according to the statement.

All guests will enter and exit by Gate 35 of the President’s Estate, which is located near the intersection of North Avenue and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
