Sensex settle at 61,150.04 with 533.15 points; Nifty rises 156.60 points to 18,212.35

Indian markets conclude the day lower as metal stocks fall

The News: On Wednesday, the Indian equity benchmark continued to rise for the fourth consecutive day as BSE Sensex rose 533 points, to settle at 61,150, while the NSE Nifty rose 157 points, to 18,212.

Top Gainers-

  • Mahindra & Mahindra was the top Nifty gainer as the stock zoomed 4.53 per cent to Rs 879.50. Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel and Hindalco were also among the gainers.


  • Titan Company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, Wipro and Nestle India.


  • The Nifty ended above the 18,200-level mark for the first time since October 27, 2021.
  • Market participants will be looking forward to TCS, Infosys, and Wipro’s Q3 results, as well as retail inflation (CPI) and industrial output (IIP) figures, which are set to be revealed this evening.
