The voting for seventh and last phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election is underway. A voter turnout of 35.51 per cent was witnessed until 1 p.m.
The news: Voting in 54 seats across nine districts began at 7 a.m. on Monday. It will decide the fate of 613 candidates, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency of Varanasi.
- In the districts of Azamgarh, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Sonbhadra, voting began at 7 a.m. and will end at 6 p.m.
- The highest percentage of voting was recorded in Mau with 24.74 per cent, followed by Chandauli (23.43 per cent) and Mirzapur (23.41 per cent).
