A famous snake catcher from Kerala has been taken off the ventilator as he is showing signs of recovery.
The news: On January 31, after being bitten by a snake, Vava Suresh went into cardiac arrest while on his way to the hospital.
- Suresh was bitten by a snake that he had gone to rescue and suffered cardiac arrest.
- Since then the snake catcher has been on a ventilator.
What’s going on: Since Monday, he was put on a ventilator but at present he is showing great improvements and also has been taken off of the ventilator.
The backstory: Snake bites and lengthy hospital stays are nothing new for the 48-year-old snake catcher.
- Vava Suresh has been handling snakes for over two decades.
- He’s been bitten over 300 times in the process. He’s handled over 50,000 snakes in the last two decades, including 200 King Cobras.
What are they saying: Suresh is still in the intensive care unit, the doctor said, while also keeping an eye on his health.
